DSDC Students and Parents,

 Later  today, I will  post a Competition results page for 2009 which will be updated throughout the season.

Once again, all of the DSDC dancers were spectacular this weekend. From our new minis and juniors who are first-time convention attendees to our competiton team dancers, each of you really WORKED this weekend! I am so proud of you!

Newbies:  Jess Baker, Katie Wiitalla, Caitlyn O'Reilly, and Kaylee Jenkins.. awesome!

Team Dancers: Sarah, Terri, Brianna, Lauren, Christina, Allison, Alyson, Maggie,  outstanding work in class all day then a spectacular  evening of competition. As always, you behaved as excellent competitiors and  ladies and I am very proud of every single one of you.

 Hello Dancers,

Wcde will be held at the  Westin Copley  Saturday 2/21 and Sunday 2/22. Please meet at 7:30 am  Saturday for wristbands and schedules to be distributed. I have added a WCDE 09 page to our site,  including Westin phone #' and directions to the hotel (courtesy of Mapquest.com).

Dancers,  WEAR YOUR SCHOLARSHIP # BOTH DAYS OF CLASS AND  MAKE SURE THE # IS VISIBLE, be on time to class, take EVERY class, and do your best. Do not worry about learning every single routine. No one expects you to retain  all of this information. Even if you learn only one new step, you will  come out of this experience a better dancer.  Please be courteous to other dancers and other studios. Learn from the other  dancers  :)

Also.. Please watch out for all of the "newbies" this year.. They may need your help in class.. Be Generous!

Comp team.. please remember all costumes and accessories as well as your smiles, talent, and good sportsmanship!

To everyone: Please observe all of the rules of bothe WCDE ( there is absolutely no videotaping permitted at anytime!!) and DSDC.  Have a wonderful time, learn LOTS, and make new friends.  Don"t forget to support the DSDC comp team as they take the stage Saturday Night!!!!

Congratulations!

The Debbie Strang Dance Center is now the home of "Junior Miss Dance Ovations" and "Miss Dance Ovations"!

Miss Maggie Sabella, age 11, won the title of Junior Miss Dance Ovations, making her eligible for the National Junior Miss Dance Ovations in June 2009. Beautiful work Miss Maggie. We are so proud of you! xoxo

Miss Terri Hazard, age 21, won the title of "Miss Dance Ovations" making her eligible for the National Miss Dance Ovations title in June 2009.  Well done, and very well deserved, Miss Terri!! I am so proud of you! xoxo

Each girl performed two solos at the Stratham, NH regional Dance Ovations on Sunday, February 8, 2009... one for performing arts, one for the title.

Maggie Sabella: "Native" (performing arts) high gold. Special award, "Angel of the Stage". Overall highscore for  solo under 12. cash award.  "Dance ON" qualified for second  year in a row!!  Congratulations!!

Here are a few updates/ reminders:

Costumes and preordered tickets will be handed out in class.  The office will be open Thursday from 5-615 pm.

ADDITIONAL TICKETS WILL GO ONSALE SAT DEC 6 from 9AM- 11 AM. FIRST COME FIRST SERVED UNTIL THEY ARE GONE.

The show will be held at the Kennedy School: 12 Kimbrough RD, Billerica, MA 01821. Student drop off time is promptly at 1:00. Chaperones will not be available before this time; please do not drop off early :)
Please have students dressed in costume with hair/makeup done. Parents will not be permitted backstage. Teachers and/or chaperones will be at drop off to greet students and take them backstage. Water bottles are ok, please no food.

This is a very informal family show, please stay for cake and refreshments after the performance to celebrate with all of our dancers!

Hi Everyone!

NEXT OPEN HOUSE.. WEDNESDAY 8/23 10-2!!
WEDNESDAY was so busy and classes are already filling up fast!!  Starlet Academy (ages 3-7) classes are filling really quickly (don't  forget we offer the lowest price and a very convenient schedule!)

Also, we are getting tons of interest in our Boys Only Hip Hop Class and are expecting that class to fill very soon.  For recreational dancers we offer Hip Hop classes EVERY day ( boys,girls, and adults welcome) 

Keep in mind our 3, count em 3  Adult Class options!  ballet/stretch, jazz/tap, and hip hop..   so much fun and no dress code. So, come comfortable and have a great time... why should the kids have all of the fun, right?

For those who need a short term option.. we now offer an 8 week Fairy Tale Ballet  Class for ages 3-8!

Back by popular demand, Mommy and Me for ages 18 months to 2.5...  so much fun and Mom (or Dad) is your dance partner!!!
